Hi, I’m Kern. I am a theatre artist residing in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. I am the Director of Admissions for Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where I also teach Shakespeare and regularly direct shows. I am also an Adjunct Professor at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, where I teach Voice, specifically connecting breath to imagination and in my copious amounts of free time I DJ at bars and for private events around the city. Feel free to check out my MIXCLOUD HERE.
I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster University’s Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis, MO and an MFA in Classical Acting from USD/Old Globe in San Diego, CA.
I have a passion for telling stories and INVITING audiences into worlds both familiar and foreign. Our world is a beautiful and diverse rainbow of cultures, identities, and experiences. Our work should not only reflect that reality, it should predict and herald the arrival of an even more inclusive world waiting inevitably around the corner. I believe that clear storytelling can inspire, bring people together, and act as a balm to the soul. I believe that theatre is for everyone and should serve as common ground for us to discover larger truths about our humanity. It is our task and responsibility as theatre artists to continue the invitation to each and every member of our community.
